Sermon Summary: Did you know that coming to church is supposed to be enjoyable? According to Paul, the atmosphere of our gatherings as a church is intended for enjoying each other's fellowship, while we collectively enjoy the Lord. In this section of Romans, we learn of 5 simple ways Paul shows us how to enjoy church together. And here’s a hint: each way is not focused on self.
The Big Truth: God saves His people!
Summary: In the story of Moses and the Israelites, God chose Moses to rescue his people. Even though Moses felt unsure, God gave him the power to perform miracles and prove himself. God sent plagues to show that He was more powerful than the Egyptian gods. Eventually, God led the Israelites through the Red Sea and defeated their enemies, setting them free.
Connection to Jesus: The story of Jesus follows a similar pattern to the story of Moses and the Israelites. Jesus faced trouble, suffering, and danger, being rejected, arrested, and crucified. But the story doesn't end there. Jesus triumphed over death by rising from the dead, bringing salvation and deliverance. Just as the blood of the lamb saved the Israelites, Jesus' sacrifice saved us from sin. If we believe in Jesus, we can be free at last and saved from judgment.
