Jesus

jesus said:

Jesus said, “Unless one is born-again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)

Ever since Jesus taught this, it has rocked the world for the last 2,000 years and has defined both the purpose and the reason why someone decides to give their life fully to Jesus.

But what does it mean to be born again?

Why is it absolutely necessary?

How is it possible?

And why can it only come through Jesus?

SIN:

When God created man, he was created in God's image and likeness. This first man, whose name was Adam, was God’s archetype for all mankind. He was created with free-will as a morally innocent, rational, and intelligent being.

God’s intention for Adam, and for all of mankind after him, was that men and women should never die, but to freely enjoy God’s fellowship and purpose for their lives forever.

This is what mankind was created for, and this is what all of mankind is born for.

But… this all came to ruin when our original parents, Adam and Eve, forfeited their innocence by willfully choosing to disobey God’s word and God’s will for their lives, and thus sin entered their bodies and they became inherently corrupt. Because of this, they incurred the penalty of spiritual and physical death which separated them from God. Thus, the need to be born again, as Jesus said, became man’s greatest need.

Because Adam’s sinful nature has been transmitted to all his children — that’s us — we too have incurred the same penalty by nature and by choice. We are both prone to sin and responsible for choosing sin. Just as Adam, we are corrupted by our own sinfulness, and hopelessly incapable of curing ourselves. Just look at the world around you. Mankind’s sinfulness can be seen at every corner. There is ruin and brokenness at every turn. Our sin has ruined our favor with God as well.

GOD'S WRATH:

As a result, we have become subject to God’s righteous judgment and God’s personal wrath.

One day, we must all stand before Him to give account for this life. Every evil and selfish intent. Every evil and selfish thought. Every evil and selfish deed. Every dirty little secret we have will be laid out in the open before His judgment seat.

There will be no negations. There will be no excuses. There will be no defense.

The judgment of God will be according to truth. The punishment will be just and we’ll be eternally separated from God in torment in a place the Bible calls Hell, where the fire is never quenched.

REDEMPTION:

Is there any hope? Is there any escape from the wrath of the righteous God?

There is! And it was God who made it possible. You can escape His wrath by being born-again to new life through Jesus Christ.

God is not only righteous and holy; He is also loving and merciful. And in God’s love for you, He created a way of escape from the penalty of your sin. He did this by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to pay that penalty.

Jesus is God's Son, one in nature with God, being God Himself, and as God's Son became a man and took on human flesh.

Jesus did this to redeem us from our sin by taking the penalty of our sin upon Himself. He suffered God’s wrath for us as He died on the cross.

Jesus paid for…

Every evil and selfish intent.

Every evil and selfish thought.

Every evil and selfish deed.

This was Jesus Christ’s victory over sin for all mankind. Our sin was buried in the grave with Him, never to be held against us, so that we can be reborn unto God.

RESURRECTION:

Even more, Jesus rose from the dead 3 days later to show His victory over physical and spiritual death.

Death no longer has power over mankind under the authority of Jesus Christ.

Adam sinned, but Jesus conquered sin on the cross.

Adam died, but Jesus conquered death through the resurrection.

And this is where the good news of Jesus rings in our ears — because the price that Jesus paid for our sin and the victory that Jesus achieved over death He freely offers to us by His grace.

We no longer have to remain born under Adam, but we can be reborn under Christ who will freely give us His salvation.

ETERNAL LIFE:

Jesus said: “Whoever believes in Me will not perish but have everlasting life!” (John 3:15)

All we must do to receive this new life is simply to believe in the person and the work of Jesus. The Bible says: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

God has made it that simple.

If you put your trust in Jesus as your God and your Savior you will be born again. You will no longer be a son or daughter of Adam. You will become a son or daughter of God.

Times of refreshing will come from the presence of the Lord. Jesus will grant you salvation and the forgiveness of all your sins. He will wash away all of your guilt and shame. You will receive the peace and favor of God. You will be given God’s Spirit as a gift. Jesus calls this Living Water. Your spirit will never thirst again. And when you die, you will escape the depths of hell and be brought into eternal life and glory with God forever.

I hope you not only want this; I hope you see your need for this salvation found in Jesus.

DON'T WAIT:

There is a great enemy of God and man, whose name is Satan, the devil, who wants to take you into the depths of hell with him because he knows his time is short. He’s a liar and the father of it.

Watch out for him. He wants you to think all of this is rubbish. And if he can’t do that, he wants you to think you have time to consider this later.

But the Bible declares, “Call upon the Lord while He is near!”

Do you think it’s any mistake that you are hearing this right now? God has graciously led you to this so you can know how to be saved, and His free gift of eternal life is being presented right before your eyes. Would you walk away now to gamble your soul to be lost forever?

Don’t wait! Don’t be stubborn! Don’t lie to yourself and don’t let Satan lie to you any longer. There is no guarantee that you’ll ever have another opportunity to be saved than right now.

God is near you this hour. He may not be the next.

confess:

Will you call upon the name the Lord right now to be saved?

“God, I confess my sins to you and know that I am deserving of Your judgment. Jesus, I confess and believe that you are Lord and that Your death and resurrection will give me eternal life, and that I am forgiven of my sins in You. I put my trust in You now, and ask you to change me, help me, and teach me. Thank you for giving me everlasting life. Amen."

receive:

If you called upon the name of the Lord, you have been granted eternal life! You are now a child of God.

Jesus tells us that even the angels in heaven celebrate when a new soul is born again (Luke 15:10). You may be feeling emotional right now, or you may not feel anything. That’s okay either way. Eternal life isn’t about feelings. It’s about your decision to put your trust in Jesus, and you can be rest assured on God’s promise that you have been given His salvation.

The Bible is where God has chosen to reveal Himself.

If you have a Bible, start reading it to discover what it means to be born again and to learn God’s will for your life. We recommend you start reading the Gospel of Luke in the New Testament. It’s about the life of Jesus. If you don’t have a Bible, we’d love to provide you with one.
