All things! Not just some, but all things without complaining and disputing. Complaining reflects an inward attitude of the heart, while disputing reveals an outward attitude toward others. We are called to embody the results of our salvation, free from both the poison of internal grumbling and the divisiveness of external conflict.
We often underestimate the destructive power of complaining and disputing. Initially, it may seem harmless, even inconsequential. At times, it might even feel gratifying. Yet, the truth is that complaining and disputing are deeply rooted poisons that have divided congregations, turned disciples away from the faith, and rendered churches throughout history ineffective for the gospel!
Do we even need to consider the Israelites? Their complaints and disputes led to outright rebellion against God, preventing them from entering the Promised Land. Time and again, we read that the people grumbled, not just at their situation, but against God Himself. How arrogant!
Likewise, Beloved, when we complain and dispute — especially about matters within the church— what does that reveal about our attitude toward God and our reverence for Him?
However, if we draw upon the divine power bestowed upon us by God to do all things without complaining and disputing, we can witness remarkable transformations in our lives. Paul highlights three characteristics that collectively embody the essence of our Lord Jesus Christ: that you may become 1) blameless, 2) harmless children of God, and 3) without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. Why? Because you shine as lights in the world!
In fact, this transformation directly correlates to being like our Lord Jesus Christ, who is Himself the light of the world. The prophet Isaiah proclaimed about our Lord and His light upon us:
With Christ in us —the hope of glory— we shine as lights in a dark world. But how can we illuminate our dark world while indulging in complaining and grumbling; negativity and conflict? We must keep this in mind! This is not mere rhetoric. This is the very command of our Lord Himself.
Beloved, let us strive to embody the light of Christ in, not only in our actions, but in our attitudes as well! For by this, we may illuminate the Way for others to walk and draw them closer to the glory of God.

Paul outlined his personal gains in Judaism earlier in this chapter (see Philippians 3:1-6), and they were like neatly embedded jewels on a crown of self righteousness. Paul had superiority in religion, in relationships, and in reputation..
