Read Job 12:7-25

“But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?” (Job 12:7–10)

The manifestation of God’s glory and power is found across the universe, from the magnitude of the sun’s aura to the chirp of the sparrow. These are things that are evident, as it were, even to the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. All one has to do is look around and to have the humility to ponder creation, and one will intuitively become aware of the majesty of God.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.” (Psalm 19:1–2)

The glory of the Lord is bountiful everywhere you look. He has not left traces, but heaps upon heaps of His craftsmanship in every micro detail. The complexity of the bone structure of a bird’s wings shows the handiwork of a Master Craftsman that eclipses even the mightiest skyscraper man has ever built. The composition of each individual cell in the body shows the design of a Wise Artist, with libraries full of unique information packed into our DNA. Mankind tries to measure the vastness of the universe with complicated mathematical formulas, while God holds it only in the palm of His hand like a toy easily held in the grip of a child.

To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?” (Isaiah 40:18)

He upholds all things by the word of His power (see Hebrews 1:3), and in Him all things consist (see Colossians 1:17). Truly,

…in Him we live and move and have our being…” (Acts 17:28)

So blatant is God’s glory revealed in every speck of dust and every breath of air and in every star in the universe and every elapse of time, that God will righteously judge mankind according to this freely given knowledge of Himself:

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:20–21)

Therefore… we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (Acts 17:29–31)

If God so regards every inch of His creation as a manifestation of His glory for us to see, then as God’s children we ought to marvel each and every day at what we see! It is enough that God has sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to redeem us, but now with an unveiled face, we can see all of creation in the light of God’s glory.

We are in a world full of many Towers of Babel; works which were created by men’s hands to attempt to blanket the glory of God. Nimrod is at every corner barking at us to focus on our humanly work, all while God desires us to look up and be reminded of eternity.

When was the last time you stepped out and looked at the open sky to gaze at the vastness of the universe which God created for you? When was the last time you were overwhelmed by the awe of a mountain range; the crashing of a raging wave in the ocean; the elegance of a bird’s flight in the air; or the determination of a caterpillar in his voyage across the lawn? You are living in a live painting of God’s genius and masterful artistry. And to think that you were placed inside of it to simply enjoy! It ought to humble us and make us look forward to all that there is waiting for us in eternal glory. This is only the beginning of all that God has in store.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?” (Psalm 8:3–4)

How could this be, that one generation knew the LORD and the next did not know Him? The former generation “served the LORD" (see Judges 2:7) and the latter generation “did evil in the sight of the LORD" (see Judges 2:11).

Beloved, there is hardly a verse that has so much divine energy packed into only a handful of words. The author of Hebrews beckons us to draw near to Christ, who is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s nature. Just as
