Only if as believers in Christ we would remind ourselves daily of the powerful work of the Holy Spirit through redemption, then we would walk more securely in our salvation and in anticipation of our resurrection. Have you forgotten, Christian, that you are sealed by the Holy Spirit? He lives and dwells in you as proof that you are a child of God!
The word seal can also mean to certify or to notarize. Your redemption is ratified in the heavens — no man or sin can break it because it has all been paid for. Therefore, when you trusted in the gospel of your salvation, the Almighty God set a mark on you that no one can erase. This mark is the eternal and sovereign signature from the Most High. It is even He Himself, the Holy Spirit, who has made His home in you.
He dwells in you, leads you, and empowers you in this life. The Spirit has raised you up from the dead and given you resurrection life in Christ (see Romans 8:11). He is your Helper to open your eyes to the mysteries of the Gospel (see John 15:26), and your Teacher to give you understanding of the Word of Truth (see 1 John 2:27). He is your Comforter who intercedes on your behalf night and day (see Romans 8:26-27). And you are now the tabernacle of God, the temple of the Holy Spirit, in whom the Shekinah glory has filled (see 1 Corinthians 3:16).
All of this is God’s notary upon your life that you are His!
In fact, it is only the beginning of all that He has in store for you. There is so much more in the Resurrection Age to come when God unleashes the exceeding riches of His grace. All of the wonders of His Holy Spirit in our lives right now is just the guarantee — just the first installment — of all that is to come (see Ephesians 2:7).
Therefore, Beloved, enjoy this spiritual preview of your future inheritance in the heavens. The goodness of God is only just beginning through His Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
