CASCADE VIEW RETREAT CENTER
Across the world Christians in persecuted countries gather for hours at a time to hear the Word of God taught. They don’t have the luxury we have to freely digest 45 minutes sermons Sunday after Sunday. Yet, in this long setting there is a blessing they experience that we miss out on. They grasp a fuller context of of Scripture by consuming it in one sitting. The Four*One Project is a discipleship event inspired by this experience. Together, we study 1 book of the Bible in 4 hours.

for disciples.
for discipleship.
Across the world Christians in persecuted countries gather for hours at a time to hear the Word of God taught in all its fullness. They don’t have the luxury we have in our country to freely digest 45-minute sermons Sunday after Sunday. Yet — in this long setting there is a blessing they are given that we miss out on. They get to grasp the fuller meaning of Scripture in all of its context in just one sitting.
The Four*One Project was inspired by this, and launched back in January 2013 as an event to see God's Word and God's people come together in a way that would change how we approach studying the Bible. We usually only have the opportunity to study through a verse or a section of Scripture once per week, but this event provides an opportunity to fly through an entire book of the Bible from start to finish in an afternoon — in four hours to be exact.
I've found that this approach gives an incredible amount of backdrop to the Scriptures that is often missed. Afterall, the early church consumed entire letters from the Apostles at a time, so why shouldn’t we? It allows the Holy Spirit to drill the truth deeper into our souls, and inspires further confidence in our biblical studies.
Think of the Four*One Project like a 5 course meal — it’s something special you don’t get very often. It’s very filling, but also something you’ll remember for years to come.
Past events have proven to be extraordinarily fruitful in transforming people's lives. It has even brought those without Christ to salvation just by hearing the Word of God taught in this manner.
It is my prayer and expectation that the Lord will continue to work mightily through His Word in this way for each and every Four*One Project we host. Lord willing, I hope this will be just one of many in our city.
